
RECIPE: Coffee Oat Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
4 TBSP almond butter (I use Kirkland Organic Creamy Almond Butter from Costco)
6 ounces of vanilla unsweetened Almond Milk (I use Trader Joe’s Non-Dairy Almond Beverage Vanilla Unsweetened) OR Kirkland Organic Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk Beverage)
2 ounces of whole milk
3-4 ounces of cold brew coffee (medium to dark roast Arabica beans)
¾ scoop of ON Nutrition Vanilla Natural Sugar Whey Protein Powder
1/3 heaping cup of steel cut or rolled oats
1/3 heaping cup of oat bran
2 TBSP of Nutiva Organic Black Chia Seeds from Costco
1 TBSP honey
1/3 cup of chopped walnuts (optional)
2-3 large ice cubes
Combine all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth
This is a great option for breakfast or lunch or dinner as a meal replacement. The combination of oats and oat bran are helpful in lowering cholesterol and it is very filling.
