Strawberry Farms Golf Club: Back 9

I’m interested to see how the heavy rains in Southern California have shaped this course.  We decide to take advantage of their “Back 9 Special with Breakfast.”

Strawberry Farms Golf Course: The Reservoir

Playing this back nine at 7am is awfully pretty.

The Reservoir

A little more fog and I would be in early morn golf heaven.

From the soil to the sky, a lot going on here…

Hole 10:  Prettiest on the course IMHO

I am barely awake and make the mistake of teeing my ball low.  After launching a couple of laser beams into the reservoir, I finally “wake up and smell the granola”.  The “granola” being a ball dropped into the “drop zone”.

Hole 11

I love a nice par 3 hole…especially if I can use my beloved 6-iron.

There are many pelicans on the reservoir.  Unfortunately they are hidden by the trees.  I can’t recall seeing pelicans on a body of water at a golf course before.

Sausage, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Burrito

I veto the nasty dry potatoes typically added to most breakfast burritos.  If they had hash browns they would’ve gone in, otherwise; they get vetoed every single time.  This is moist with some seriously tasty sausage.  And the strawberries at “Strawberry Farms Golf Club” are excellent.  Shock-HER!

Strawberry Farms Golf Club:  Dining Room

I think this place reminds me of Apple Farm in San Luis Obispo and The Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria.  Farmhouse comfortable design and decor.

Dining Room:  View to Driving Range

It sure is nice seeing Southern California courses get green again via the unusually heavy Fall and Winter rains.  We plan on enjoying play at a variety of golf courses before the late Spring heat browns everything out again.

THE END!!!
