“8 Colorful Flavors of Pork Belly”…

There are times in this life when the food gods work in unison to offer up a delicacy which is nothing shy of paradise in the mouth.  Dining at Eight Korean BBQ (eightkoreanbbq.com) surely delivers in this regard.  The 8 flavors of pork which we consumed were as follows: rosemary; kimchi (“red pepper”); ginseng; garlic; regular; miso; curry and wine.  Enjoy the “sniff” my friends.

The service here is friendly and fantastic.  Unlike some other Korean BBQ establishments they do all of the cooking.  While its fun to cook yourself its even better to have them do the cooking so items don’t get overcooked.

This is a very enjoyable way for me to enjoy kimchi.

The Taiwanese have a classroom designed restaurant chain called “Class 302” which features individual classroom style chairs in their dining room.  This restaurant features table desks which have metal chopsticks, metal spoons, a bottle opener and napkins inside.

This dish begins as a seafood soup (stage one) in a clear broth but it will undergo a metamorphosis becoming three different dishes by meal’s end.  Stay tuned…

The Taiwanese tend to be fans of this dish but the flavor is a bit too light for me to really appreciate.  Apparently after 11 years with a Taiwanese woman I’m still “whitey” when all is said and done.  😉

I wish pork didn’t take so long to cook.  Although this grill most be smokin’ because it did take less time than I anticipated.

My favorites were rosemary, garlic and likely kimchi taking the honors as tastiest of the night.
